Bank Holiday in Barmouth

Another Bank Holiday over with, and what fab weather we had, especially on the Monday. Its was so nice to see the town buzzing after such a long, sleepy, cold, winter.

The harbour cafes seemed to be doing a roaring trade over the Bank Holiday.

It was great to have the shop so busy - some new customers and some returning. My favourite customer comment had to be 'We have to visit Luvit on our trip to Barmouth, its a must. '

For those of you who haven't visited our shop, here is a bit of information on the building in which we are housed. We are in an attractive white cottage - one of the oldest buildings in Barmouth.  See if you can spot it on your next visit!

Luvit, High Street, Barmouth - modern day

We have quite a few old photos of the shop the one shown below has a front section which has now been removed to make room for a pavement, also the small shed where the rakes are resting in the right hand corner has now gone.

Before Luvit, on the High Streetin Barmouth. What date though?

I love to see people in old photos and their clothes, gives you an idea as to when the photo was taken? The sign on the front of the shop says ' Bring your repairs. Best and cheapest in town'

Date carved into one of the shelves in the shop. Genuine or fake?

At the back of the shop there is a slate dated 1489, so the shop may be pretty old.
